I met Erodia when I was at the lowest point of my life going through things I never thought I would ever overcome. She showed me there was a way out through Jesus and she would hold me accountable which helped me grow. This also gave me a new perspective on things. She would sit with me for hours and listen instead of telling me what I WANT to hear she would tell me what I NEEDED to hear. She has remained patient with me. The words she speaks make you want to do better and encourage you. She has never made me feel less than or judged me for messing up. She always tells me to put my head up and keep going as she holds me accountable while helping me not make the same mistakes again. Erodia has been a light in my life, a mentor, a teacher, and a mother. I am truly honored to have been mentored by her and grateful she has invested her time in me. She truly has such a sweet loving heart I could go on and on about how blessed I am to have met her.

There came a time in my life when I was living in a season filled with confusion. I couldn’t differentiate the voices in my head whether it was God’s voice or my own.

I’m the type of person who is very introverted when it comes to opening up about my problems. One day, Erodia texted me to check up on me out of nowhere. She asked me if I was okay and I lied out of pride and told her I was fine, all is well. She reassured me that she’s always there for me which is where I lack trust in that department.

The next day, I was crying all morning. I felt very alone and felt I had no one. Then a voice in my head said “Text Erodia.” I was contemplating at first but I knew in my heart I needed someone to talk to. So I texted her to see if she was available to speak. Within seconds she called me. She made sure God was in the midst with a prayer for her to be used by the Holy Spirit. Then I laid everything out to her. Her responses gave me clarity in all of my problems that consumed me with confusion. She helped me see clearly and gave me the peace that I’d been yearning for. She related that most of the problems that I had, she had gone through them also and gave me her solutions, and directed me on how I should move forward. Her posture with me was very gentle and loving and she made me feel heard and like I mattered. Her counseling is gracious. Since then, my mindset from before hasn’t been the same.

I Met Ms. Erodia at a Christian camp called KAA (Kids Across America). And ever since that day, she has been a blessing to my life. We connected and she shared words of wisdom, knowledge, Bible and we worshipped together and we have had a connection ever since.
